Kaamos is a collective of designers from Finland. We've been around for quite a while, having exhibited in Milan, Paris, Stockholm, New York and Frankfurt to name but a few. Our designers have studied furniture design, ceramic and glass design, graphic design and applied art and design in various esteemed academies, such as the Lahti Institute of Design and Fine Arts, the Helsinki University of Art and Design and the Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. Our collective debuted at the Greenhouse arena of the Stockholm Furniture Fair in early 2009. In 2011 we presented our successful Plop exhibition at the SaloneSatellite in Milan. Our designs are greatly inspired by Finnish culture and traditional production processes. We aim to produce innovative products to create a convenient, enjoyable and interesting living environment, without forgetting local and ecological values. We appreciate authentic materials, and we are not afraid to use and combine them in experimental or imaginative ways. Our product prototypes have been created in co-operation with Finnish artisans, but our products are also suitable for industrial serial production. During the exhibition, we aim to find manufacturers for our products and ideas. Erik Bertell, Katriina Nuutinen, Anna Palomaa ja Matti Syrjälä from the Kaamos group are presenting their work at the SaloneSatellite.
