Born in Fukuoka, Japan 1977. At age of 15, Keiji Takeuchi decided to move to New Zealand on his own where he spent his youth. In 1999 during is final year at UNITEC School of Art, he moved to Paris for an scholarship study at ENSCI / Les Ateliers. During the same year he received a New Zealand’s national design award: gold prize under student category for product design. He also received several other design awards at the same period. In 2003 he moved to Tokyo and since 2005, he has been a member and a designer at Naoto Fukasawa Design ltd, working under one of the most influential designer of today: Naoto Fukasawa. After working at Naoto Fukasawa’s office in Tokyo for 7 years, Takeuchi decided to move to Milan where he also decided to set up a satellite office for Naoto Fukasawa. Today Takeuchi is in charge of his entire European and western design projects. In 2014 he decided to start freelancing his personal projects alongside his current role for Naoto Fukasawa in Milan. During the same year, Takeuchi was selected by Giulio Cappellini as one of seven upcoming designers and in 2015 he worked on an installation project at KBIS Las Vegas for an Italian natural stone company: Antolini in collaboration with G.Cappellini. His collaboration with G.Cappellini continues and Cappellini once again selected Takeuchi to participate a project with Ceramica Flaminia for its 60th anniversary. Later in the year, he established KEIJI TAKEUCHI SRLS and currently collaborating with various international brands.
